I deeply admire and respect the Jamaican creative spirit…
Back in 2009 I wasn’t enjoying what I was doing. My professional experience up to that time was in the Financial Services and I was a partner in an organisation that I had helped to start, that was doing important work, but it didn’t make my heart sing. I knew I had to change jobs, so I did.
One of the things that has excited me my entire life has been the creative arts, Literature first and foremost. One of the things I had felt for a long time was that people coming to visit Jamaica missed so much by limiting themselves to the beach. If only they would come to Kingston, go see a play, talk to an writer, go to a concert. So I decided to launch Jamaica Cultural Enterprises, and 11 years later, here we are.
The organisation is meant to be a gateway, especially for those visiting Kingston, to Jamaican culture and experiences. I remain truly passionate about showcasing the best of Jamaica’s culture.
